Annette Allman

Archetypes

31 March – 30 April 2023

Created over a decade, Archetypes explores spiritual, psychological and social truths. Archetypes are universal patterns of energy that reflect our collective human experience, transcending time, place and culture.

As a child, Annette attended a Catholic church where she was introduced to symbolism. This, combined with her love of story and psychotherapy informs this body of work. The exhibition maps out the archetypal journey of the hero/heroine from the age of innocence to redemption.

The exhibition Archetypes spans the Holy month of Ramadan, Passover and Easter. All three religious holidays represent reflection, sacrifice, forgiveness, redemption and celebration.
