  • In my latest series, I continue to explore the themes of veiling and trickery through trompe-l’oeil paintings of losing scratchie tickets. These works playfully blur the boundary between image and reality, enticing viewers to look closer and question what they see. The scratched and discarded tickets, serve as symbols of fleeting hope and the often-disappointing pursuit of chance. Inspired by the story of the Zeuxis from the ancient painting contest, these works reflect on the theme of the loser and the deceptive nature of art.

  • Oil and acrylic painting on aluminium sheet. Mounted on timber backing frame to float work off wall once installed.
