Sorse Gallery is an exhibition and event space in Brunswick, Naarm/Melbourne. Founded and operated by a family of artists, designers and engineers. We seek to deliver a positive and fulfilling experience for exhibiting creatives and provide a welcoming artistic destination for local community.

The gallery provides a large, flexible and low cost space for creatives, who are looking to exhibit their work or host an event.

  • We operate Sorse Gallery with the following core values and look to work with creatives who are aligned with these qualities. We are in this for the art, supporting creatives and connecting with great people.

    Connection, Collaboration, Communication.

We look to work with creatives who are open to establishing a working connection with our team to foster collaboration and communication of ideas during exhibition development.

We also look forward to promoting and supporting creative endeavours beyond Sorse Gallery for our exhibiting creatives.

    Opportunity

Our current model provides opportunity for creatives to exhibit a range of artistic outcomes within an ever-growing creative district of Naarm/Melbourne inner north.

We operate on a low-commission of 10% on exhibition sales to increase the profitability opportunities for creatives.

Our hire-fee model allows creatives who may wish to exhibit works that are not for sale, as well as provide space for artistic practices that do not produce works with the intention of commercial sales.

We are continuously reviewing ways to reduce costs on exhibiting creatives to help maximise the profitability for exhibiting artists.

    Diversity / Inclusion

Our exhibition program looks to showcase diverse outcomes across both emerging and established creatives, as well as varied artistic mediums and perspectives.

We encourage applications from all creatives, including curators, who wish to exhibit a body of work and tell their story.

    We are a queer-friendly, anti-hate and pet-loving space.

    Integrity & Respect

We wish to work with creatives who operate professionally and understand their responsibilities to ensure a fulfilling experience for everyone. You’ll get the exact same from us.

    Quality

We are interested in working with creatives who are committed to their craft and produce high quality outcomes. We wish to present each exhibition with consistent and considered care.

  • We wanted to add a new creative destination to the diverse Naarm/Melbourne artistic scene that prioritised opportunity, affordability and quality for creatives and visitors. We wish to provide a generous space for larger-scale ideas as well as creative pursuits that may not have commercial outcomes. Lastly, and most importantly, we wanted to offer a positive exhibiting and visiting experience to creatives and audiences.

  • Sorse Gallery is founded and operated by a Brunswick family. We each have our own part-time artistic practices as well as working across the exhibition design, architecture, and healthcare industries. We are all passionate about supporting creative endeavours and look forward to welcoming you to Sorse Gallery.
